About Virginia Nail School

Viginia Nail School was founded on the idea of improving the nail industry by providing more "Licensed" Nail Technicians into the industry in order to build more respect to our trade. "Licensed" Nail Techs are respected for their ability to provide a safe and sanitary service to the public. We are a small private school with decades of experience putting licensed Nail Techs into Virginia. About half of our students come here after being scammed by salon apprenticeships, attending unlicensed schools, leaving schools with instructor/training issues, leaving schools that went out of business or going to nail schools with a course that did not fully prepare them for an updated licensing exam.

This school specializes in individual attention to guide students all the way to licensing. We keep our enrollment small enough to pay attention to each student. We don't just hand a certificate to students and walk away from them. We cater instruction to each student's own learning style and ability to finish. The instructor stays by graduates until they pass their state exams to get licensed. We are not focused on profits with a large overhead and multiple staff to pay. This allows our school to be open with minimum cost and maximum attention.

Ms. Vivian is the instructor and she has 30 years of experience in the nail industry. She has performed over 100,000 nail services to teach the secrets to understand how to create durable results. She can answer ANY question you have about nails to become a knowledgeable Nail Technician. She currently works with the Virginia Department of Education as a consult for regular updates to the State's Nail Technology curriculum to stay up to date with instruction to ensure her graduates can pass the state exams to get their license.

We very strongly believe that students that are meant to be here will end up here. We do not push anyone to attend this school and enrollment questions will be answered openly for enrollment here or anywhere else. To maintain focus per student we keep our yearly enrollment low. The Instructor, Ms. Vivian, earns her salary with other jobs listed at the bottom of this page and does not get paid to teach here. Her patience and guidance is what sets her apart from bigger schools looking to get old students out the door for profits on the next class group.

OUR PROS/CONS:

 PRO:
Our small private school is not for profit so we limit our enrollment per year to ensure focus is given per student to prepare for actual licensure. We personalize the course towards each student's own learning style, speed and skill. We offer an amazing flexibility to attend class when students have a busy personal life. We teach one on one so we are a good for those with IEPs, ADHD or Social Anxiety. To learn the most in a course here: students should ask the Master Instructor questions in class to learn any skill in the nail industry.

CON: We are a long drive for students to attend. Almost ALL of our students drive at least an hour with more than half driving over 2 hours. We do not teach advance skills in our course and recommend graduates to attend trade shows, workshops or advance training classes after getting licensure. Licensure is the important factor and most students don't realize this until they finish a course elsewhere that didn't get them licensed!
