Lab Sessions

Students will pick the date sessions to attend

BEFORE each class day: 10-20 hours of online study is due
AFTER each class day: 5-10 hours of skill practice done at home before next date

Students will pre-plan a organized attendance schedule to finish by the deadline. Dates can be full at any time. Students are recommended to attend 1-4 dates per month. Attending more than 2 dates in a weekend is not needed and can be a lot on a student. Students learn to master hands on skill when they take the time to practice between dates.

Most students finish in about 4 months. Finishing sooner than 3 months can decrease the ability to pass the state written and practical exams (to get licensed) unless the student has great book study skills and advanced artificial nail skills upon starting. Students must learn all material well to pass the school's final test and be released for state exams.  There are no lab classes held in Oct 2020 to mid Jan 2021.

TO TAKE THE STATE EXAMS TO GET LICENSED
Students must master:
Sanitation procedures

Manicure skills

Pedicure skills

Nail Tips & Wrap application

Acrylic I & II services

State Exam Prep

Pass Book Study Test
Basic Level is designed for those looking to get licensed with speed from doing nail services for a long time.

Designer level adds training in dip plus advance skills in mani, pedi, acrylic, art, gels, electric filing and business.

The course offers flexible enrollment but there are STRICT rules in attendance.

  • Basic students must attend all dates before 7/1/20. Advance anytime before 8/1/20. Designer before 10/1/20.
  • students can only reschedule two dates in less than 24 hours. After the two dates are used up, there is a $50 fee.
  • no shows require a $50 fee to attend the next date. Emergencies require documented/verifable proof.
  • students should arrive at the start time of class, not early or late.
  • student's daily grade can be affected if they are late. Traffic check is done to verify issues.
  • reschedule rules do not apply to any days with inclement ice/snow weather especially if the local Fluvanna county schools are closed. Extra days/extensions are added if there are closed days.
