Students start with their online study first. After about 30-60 days they can usually tell how long it will take to finish their online study to attend. Students can book their class dates online, by phone, email or text. Class dates are usually on the weekend at 10:30 or 2:30. There are other times available during the week Mon-Fri and nights when planned ahead.
Virginia requires specific recorded training hours done inside a state licensed school under the supervision of a state licensed Instructor to complete a Nail Course that leads to licensing. Students must attend classes at the school to take testing on online study and do hands on work for approval to be released to take the state exams for licensure.
Most of our students can finish their lab training within 10 days. Those struggling with slower speed to complete assignments in class may need a few more days. Students usually start attending about 2 months of enrollment. Students usually attend 1-3 days a month while studying hands on work at home 5-10 hours after each class with online study continued. Attending back to back dates is absolutely not recommended to ensure that practice was done at home to bring issues to resolve at the next class date to master skill effectively. Online study and attendance must be done within 6 months of enrollment when the course expires for use (exception to verifiable emergencies). All classes are 1 on 1 private training in 2020 to sanitize per visit. A mask is required at all times (except during a state required photo).
Students are able to book up to three (up to 1hr) video chat or several (up to 30min) phone calls to get help with hands on homework or book study during the first 3 months of the course. Students will be required to take testing at the school (under recording video cameras) to verify that they were the one doing the online study work. Failed tests are $50 per try. There are two tests required to pass the book study/online part of the course.
Students can cancel/reschedule classes online through their email reminder up to 24 hours before their start time but less than 24 hour cancellations can't be done online and require a $50 rebook fee (exception to verifiable emergencies).

The #1 question we get is about rushing the attendance. Our response is: look at it this way... picture if you just started learning how to drive and you studied the book manual for a car, tractor trailer and motorcyle for a few months. Then lets say you came in for one week to learn how to actually drive a car on Mon, then a tractor trailer on Wed and a motorcyle on Fri. Do you think you will pass the book and hands on driving test for all three vehicles at the DMV the following week? Probably not, so this is why hands on practice is needed between each date. You are paying us to know what book/visual requirements are needed for the state exams to get a license. You also want to be prepared to do services on people that may not be as forgiving as family/friends. Practice at home with practice at school gets you ready to become a professional nail tech and a license will open many more doors for you in this trade.
