Welcome

Thank you for enrolling into Virginia Nail School!

You are enrolled into the 10 week course.
You will attend either Wed or Sat (not both):

  • Wednesday from 10am-6:30pm if you selected Wed

  • Saturday from 10am-6:30pm if you selected Sat

  • These days can not be switched you have to attend all Sat or all Wed

  • There is a 42 min break to leave or stay at around 12-1pm

Online Study

You now can access your online study for the first two weeks of class. You can choose to review, start or complete it to be ahead in your studies.

There is a PDF for the book reference. On the first day of class you will get a book to study Part 2 and Part 3 online study. You are in Part 1 study now.
You don't need to buy a book.

You can complete the first half or all of the online study to be ahead before classes start. This is recommended because Part 2 study is tough.

  • Parking is free
WEDNESDAY STUDENTS: When you arrive please park by the grass on the right side of the building. AFTER lunch you can park anywhere you want. DO NOT park in the front of the business doors since the neighboor businesses have clients coming in/out every 10-15 minutes. They are closed when you go to lunch.
SATURDAY STUDENTS: You can park anywhere you want. The neighbor businesses are usually closed

  • Arrive to class no more than 5 minutes early if the door says open. Usually entry is 0-5 minutes before class starts.

  • What to bring: you need your Virginia DMV ID or Driver's License OR a Government/State issued photo ID with your Social Security Card or ITIN.
You can bring a small notebook if you want to take notes. Bring a beverage or snack for the classroom but it can not be in the lab area. There is a locker to store items if needed.  If you want to bring your ipad or laptop to study when you finish assignments you can store it in your locker for the day.

  • What to wear: you can wear what you like but I suggest an outfit that you can stain. Some students wear scrubs like a nurse or a salon lab jacket.  Also, you DO NOTneed to spend hours making your nails amazing. Save that for the last weeks of classes.  Your nails should not have an artificial product on them during the first 6 class days or you will not learn the most and not allow your class partners to learn polishing skills. You can put them back on after class day 6.

  • What to be prepared for: you will be shown how to clock in/out of classes. You must present your ID's to scan to the state. I will take a passport like photo (that will not be posted anywhere public or on social media). We will have a lecture class for a few hours on salon safety and if time, some hands on check/training on professional safe polishing. Lunch is for 30 minutes around 12-1pm. You can leave the school or stay for lunch. There is not a break room to sit in so you would be either sitting in your car or in the classroom/lab if students are not in there.

  • Other tips: each class is a max of 2-4 students. It may be partially or fully enrolled.  Guests can not sit inside the school. Please avoid using your phone during class this includes recording when other students may want their privacy off social media for reasons you may not know about. Google glasses are not allowed.
