START DATES
Students can enroll when start dates are posted online. They can review their online study assignments up to 30 days before the start of their chosen start date (to then attend their class days here in Palmyra, Virginia).  Classes will have hands on training and testing.

ONLINE STUDY
Students will study online anytime during the week to complete specific assignments each week. Student login and logout online study hours will be recorded. For the 8 week enrollment a minimum of 9 hours of online study must be completed each week. For the 12 week enrollment a minimum of 6 hours of online study must be completed each week.

ATTENDANCE
Students must come to classes at the school to learn salon safety and safe service skills. Students will clock in upon entry and out upon exit of the school to record their clock hours to take our course. For the 8 week program, students will be inside the school a minimum of about 10 hours each week. For the 12 week program, students will be inside the school a minimum of about 7 hours each week. Missed class days/hours must be made up within 7 days of the last class date to complete the course and pass.  If not made up in time, the course can be failed.

SUPPLIES
Students can choose to buy a kit here with their course cost or they can get items on their own in a recommendation list.  Items are not specific.  Our kits take the guess work out of what to buy for those new to nails and introduces them to Professional brand names to trust. Our school provides all in-class practical supplies so supply items will stay at home with the student (exception to their acrylic nail brush). We do not offer any advanced training at this time.

COURSE STUDY
We would love to teach you everything about nails but it will not happen in this course. High quality advanced, certification or specific training is available after you obtain your license. Our course study was approved in 2026 to only teach DPOR's new specific training requirements for licensure. We do not teach art, buisness, study/life skills or do certifications like GelX in the classroom.  We will teach students in the school: salon safety, infection control, manicures, pedicures, acrylics, soft gel services, safe removals and prepare them for the licensing exam.  Online training will teach anatomy/physiology, product chemistry, nail structure, nail diseases/disorders, state laws/regulations and professional ethics. We have one of the highest licensure enrollment ratio rates because "licensure" (not just a certificate) is our focus to put high quality Nail Techs into the industry offering safe services.

COMPLETION
All tests  scores must be 80% or higher to continue.  Failed tests here can be repeated for $50 on another day by booking a test time. After all class modules have been completed/attended and all tests are passed with a 80% or higher students can be released (and prepared) to take the state exams for licensing. There are 6 or 10 tests to complete in our course.

TRANSFERS
Our school accepts transfers from other schools based on their previous completion and records. Contact the school for cost details and to give us your previous enrollment information. Students enrolled into any Virginia Nail Technician program that did not finish before March 2026 must complete the new 2026 required regulations for enrollment.

NOT INCLUDED
Our cost does not include the 2026 cost to take exams is $194 (retry fees are $95-99). The Virginia Nail Technician license for $120 after passing both exams (renewed every 2 years with a fee to DPOR to stay licensed). Supplies to take the exam will cost about $100-150.

DISCLOSURES
